 2. Introduction

Ice town has been invaded by the evil snow trolls, all around is chaos as
the snow trolls kidnap Ice towns inhabitants. Amongst the turmoil one Penguin
stands tall (or on tip toes) and decides to fight back. Our hero Pen-Pen and
his sweetheart Deda-Deda set out to rescue the kidnapped citizens of Ice Town
who have been sealed inside star blocks. Can Pen-Pen battle his way thru many
tough and dangerous levels rescue his friends and beat back the evil snow
 troll army.

Push Push Pengiun is a remake of an old classic game Pengo. It is not
really a remake as such since the gameplay was vastly improved and a lot
of things have been added. You can collect bonus items, get combo scores,
roam around different mazes (original only had random created mazes with
ice blocks), do tasks like rescue star sprites, dodge traps, etc. There are
Bonus Rounds (try collecting all BONUS letters), special levels which you
must finish in a limited time (find the chest and open it up), etc.
Basically every aspect of the game was improved on, but one thing was kept
in-tact - the feeling of the good old arcade game. We spent many hours
on having the look&feel of the game just right and we hope we succeeded.

 3. Game Play

Guide Pen-Pen or his sweetheart Deda-Deda around the mazes and try to crush
all monsters on screen with the Ice Blocks scattered around. Use the Action
button to push the ice block or crush it if it cannot be pushed.
If you face the outer wall and press the Action button then you will start
breathing the icy breath onto them which will make them freeze. If there are
any monsters walking by the frozen wall they will get instantly stunned and
you can use this opportunity to crush them with an ice block.
There are several different kinds of monsters which you will meet through
the game. They all act differently and each has its own special ability -
some can crush ice blocks, some push them into you and some have a special
effection for our beloved Pengiun. Some monsters you won't be able to
just crush with the ice block but they will become frozen inside
the block if you push it into them. If this happens then you have 5 seconds
to crush the block with the monster inside or they will be set free !
In later levels there will be several different traps hindering you in
your path to save your friends like Booby Traps, Slippery ice, etc. You can
disarm some by pushing ice blocks into them, but others will just stay there
forever. Look out for special power-ups, you may even find the hidden Bonus
Forest or the key to the power of the legendary fire penguin! Also there is
an extra life in for you every 50.000 points!

mode your desktop MUST be in at least 1024x768 resolution or the game will

You can use the following command line options to start the game in
Window mode by default or set the pixel size :

win - start the game in Windowed mode instead of Full Screen
small - use small pixel size (by default double pixel size is used)
gdi - special compatible mode (if the game doesn't start use this)

i.e. PPP.exe win small - this will use both options

 6. Trouble Shooting

The game was not extensively tested so there might be problems on some
configurations (different - older - graphics cards, processors, etc.).
Please use the "win" command line options if the game does not work with
Full Screen mode. Also try different desktop settings (16/15/32 bit,
 different resolutions, etc.).
